Barn Door Media was founded by Shawn Twing in 1998 as a full-service web development and Internet marketing agency. Two decades later we have worked with more than 125 clients, completed more than 400 projects, and have managed tens of millions of dollars in ad spend.
In the spring of 2019, Barn Door Media started a new chapter. Built on the foundation of a 30-year friendship, Barn Door Media now combines Shawn’s decades of strategic insights with John’s decades of operational excellence.
Shawn Twing is the founder and president of Barn Door Media. He has more than two decades of experience developing, executing, optimizing, and scaling digital marketing strategies for clients large and small, building and refining a principles-based framework to do that successfully and predictably, and he has spent thousands of hours advising and teaching others how to do the same.
Shawn is an infinitely curious, lifelong student fascinated by the mental models, strategies, and methods that reliably produce results outside the norm.
He approaches every project and client relationship the same way, embodied in a simple question – “If I woke up tomorrow owning your business, knowing what I know, what would I do?”
John Kitonis is a seasoned leader, with 25 years of software development experience and an expertise in leading technology teams. He has architected and released commercial products for companies ranging in size from startup to the Fortune 500. Prior to joining Barn Door Media, he was Chief Technology Officer at Inntopia where he implemented Agile Development Methodologies to increase transparency, quality and operational throughput. In his tenure there, John built an engineering department consisting of 10 Scrum Teams and capable of simultaneously supporting 3 lines of business.
John has held VP Engineering / IT positions at three other companies in Finance, Health Care and Higher Education. A strong proponent of Agile development methodologies, John is passionate about delivering value to our customers. To that end, he works closely with clients to constantly evaluate and modify our deliverables to meet their changing requirements.
